16 De September Festival

Two fun days with vendors, live music, food and much, much more - this special event runs from 6:00PM - 12:00PM on Friday and from noon until midnight Saturday at the grounds of Santa Rosa Catholic Church, at 1201 Ash and 3rd streets. The tradition of the Diez y Seis de Septiembre festival dates back to September 16, 1810, when the peasants of Mexico, declared their independence from Spain. Admission: 50¢ for children and $1.00 for adults. For more information call  432–445–2309.

Look for this parade in downtown Pecos area. Diez y Seis is an historic annual event,  celebrating the  revolution by the people of Mexico - against Spain's occupation of Mexico. Parade begins at the Rodeo arena at 10am, and proceeds north on Cedar. Free. For more information call 432-445-2309.
