Pecos Cantaloupe Food Show

The Cantaloupe Food Show is an annual celebration of the Sweet Pecos Cantaloupe that was created here in Pecos and Reeves County. The show of creative "cantaloupe" displays and the delicious Cantaloupe Recipes make for a tasty event! Cantaloupe recipe entries are accepted and judged in several categories, as is a Youth Cantaloupe Decorating Contest. All the yummy fun takes place at the West of the Pecos Museum, 120 E. Night in Old Pecos Festival

The Night in Old Pecos Festival is held in historic Downtown Pecos and the Park at the West of the Pecos Museum. The annual party is a fun family event with a variety of food and games vendors, activities and live music. The event starts at 6:00 pm to Midnight, at the corner of 2nd and Oak Street. 30th Annual Cantaloupe Fly-in & Lions Club Pancake Breakfast

Pilots from around the area fly into the Pecos Municipal Airport in their small aircrafts to participate in activities including a testing of their skills with the popular cantaloupe bombing. As the event begins a pancake breakfast and fresh cantaloupe is cooked and served by the Pecos Downtown Lions Club. Location Pecos Municipal Airport Admission Free 7:00 am -11:00 am. Three fun days with vendors, live music, food and much, much more - this special event runs from 6:00PM - 12:00PM on Friday and from noon until midnight Saturday at the grounds of Santa Rosa Catholic Church, at 1201 Ash and 3rd streets. The tradition of the Diez y Seis de Septiembre festival dates back to September 16, 1810, when the peasants of Mexico, declared their independence from Spain.
